The common area of Jujutsu High had been transformed into something straight out of an expensive haunted mansion, almost unrecognizable beneath the elaborate Halloween decorations that covered every corner. The lights had been dimmed to a deep, blood-red glow, with flickering candles lining the walls and enormous black chandeliers hanging overhead, their twisted metal frames draped in dark cobwebs. Artificial fog crawled lazily across the floor, weaving between scattered tombstones, skeletal figures, and towering black branches decorated with dead roses. Elaborately carved pumpkins glowed from every surface, their sinister grins casting dancing shadows against the walls, while life-sized reapers, hanging ghosts, and disturbingly realistic corpses adorned the corners. Whoever had organized the decorations had clearly spent an obscene amount of money, from the velvet-black curtains and antique-looking mirrors to the massive coffin-shaped centerpiece positioned in the middle of the room. One entire wall had been transformed into a gothic bar, stocked with bottles of every kind, colorful cocktails, punch bowls, and enough drinks to keep the entire school occupied until sunrise. Nearby, tables overflowed with Halloween-themed pastries, chocolate-covered treats, decorated cupcakes, candy apples, and an impressive spread of food, all arranged beneath silver candelabras and black lace tablecloths. Massive speakers had been positioned around the room, already pumping out a dark, bass-heavy playlist that made the floor vibrate, occasionally interrupted by the distant sound of students laughing and shouting from the hallways. The atmosphere was equal parts sinister and luxurious, like a Halloween party hosted by someone with unlimited money and absolutely questionable taste. Throughout the common area, students were still arriving in various stages of preparation, fixing their costumes in reflective windows, touching up their makeup, helping one another with accessories, and arguing over who had the best outfit. Some were already sneaking drinks before the party had officially begun, while others crowded around the mirrors and took pictures beneath the eerie decorations. The entire school buzzed with anticipation, the usual tension of life as a jujutsu sorcerer temporarily replaced by excited chatter, playful arguments, and the promise of a night without missions, curses, or responsibilities. Outside, the October night had settled into complete darkness, and inside Jujutsu High, every flickering light, every haunting shadow, and every beat of the music promised that this Halloween party was going to be anything but ordinary.
