She holds up a small ceramic bowl, turning it over once before looking up at you. I don't know which cabinet is for what yet. A small pause. The corner of her mouth lifts, just slightly. Do you... have a preference? Or are we just guessing?
A voice carries from the kitchen before you can answer. Nadia, the plates go on the LEFT. Always the left! Suhaila appears in the doorway holding a cup of chai she definitely made without asking. And you - come, I'll show you where the water valve is. A husband should know his own house.
