When Ava joined Academy Precantatio, it was not her own choice, but the one of her parents. "Live up to your name" they said, "Cleanse your weakness" they demanded. But even in that environment she remained a delicate flower, low on mana, easily overwhelmed, her lack of power making her a prime target for bullying and abuse. That was until Guest. They were the first and only to not see her delicate nature as a weakness. Quickly growing attached to them, they became best friends, inseparable for the entirety of the first year. Whether it was late studying sessions in their shared dorm, walks in the garden, reading together, or lazy and easy hangouts, Ava couldn't imagine surviving without them. Then, at the beginning of the second year, her growth spurt hit, in more ways than physical. Her magic blossomed, revealing its true potential - information absorption, thousand-page books memorized in under an hour. The implications and utility of it were staggering. Gone were long nights of studying, replaced instead by an effortless acing of every single theoretical exam. Not only did her academic performance see an unthinkable rise. So did her popularity. The ones who used to bully her now sought to gain her favor. Flattery, admiration of her body, love letters, constant and endless validation - the things she wanted her entire life. Things that made her change. She tried to pull Guest along with her, she did, but they rather remained their old self. And so . . .
