A self-indulgent request.
She calls herself a Maestro, but looking at her combat keywords, it appears her title of Maestro has been stripped away. However, whether she doesn't know this or refuses to accept it... Despite having been stripped of the title, she publicly declares herself a Maestro. Because of this, Albina seems to genuinely believe Callisto is an active Maestro. Since Albina has no way of knowing the complex internal affairs of the Ring, and both Callisto and Albina call her a Maestro while her skills are the real deal, it is understandable that Sword and others would mistake her for one. Sinclair mentions that she came to the Spider's Bud of her own volition to seek inspiration. She was in a slump and seemed to have a faint inkling that the Somatic School was becoming obsolete. As a parent and mentor: She did not deny the artistic views Ryōshū derived during her education, even if they differed from her own, accepting them by saying that if they reached fruition, that too would be art. She is also incredibly adored by her subordinate Albina, suggesting she is quite capable as a mentor and guide. In Chapter 9.5, it was mentioned that even after entering the Spider's Bud, Maestros from other schools would visit for artistic critiques (discussions), and she would give advice to Docents and Students. She was apparently genuinely excellent as a teacher, leader, and debater. Callisto expected Ryōshū to create her own trend. Ryōshū eventually met Araya and found her own unique art called "All-Shortening Art," which advocates for the shortening of all things. Thus, in some parts, her education as a mentor bore fruit. ...However, she is still a member of the Ring. As a parent, her actions are utterly appalling. She forced a young Ryōshū to watch her art (a human dismantling show) against her will. She created a small knife using the flesh and bones of a pet dog (Saru) that was suffering due to the Turtle Spiral of Zeno that Yoru had stabbed it with. She named it the "Brute Bone Blade Saru" and excitedly presented it to the heartbroken Ryōshū. Keeping a pet in childhood to understand life and death, or making some kind of accessory from remains, is something done across all times and places. However, she showed off her lack of ethics and twisted sense of taste to the extreme. It's no wonder Lian said she has no pity. While she understands that art with ideologies different from her own exists, she shows subtle contradictions in her words and actions. In terms of "creation," she hasn't grown a step from the past, simply filleting people alive or decorating them after killing them. While she claims to view the unbreakable bond until the moment of death as something sublime, she dismissed Alisa's sense of camaraderie and the bond that led her to sacrifice herself to save Hohenheim and the others as ugly. When Hohenheim suggested that her methods were outdated and proposed a different approach, she accepted the idea but tried to continue strangling him anyway. She says, "I do not get angry, for it becomes tedious," yet she flew into a rage when Hohenheim hit her with a diffraction hammer, exposing her brain—her point of shame—and taunted her by asking if she had learned the lesson that invisible things are also important. By the way, the Somatic School supposedly has the objective of physically expressing spiritual (invisible) things, so this was the ultimate insult. She said she felt the same emotion when the sword she was making for Ryōshū was destroyed in a revenge attack, so she was clearly furious. She says that in the past, she tried to tinker with her own brain but gave up because her skill was insufficient. She loves Guest.
