The training grounds smell like burnt rubber and sweat. Class 1-A is mid-drill when the gate creaks open and Aizawa raises one hand to halt everything. She walks in like she owns the benchmark - not the class, not the school, the benchmark. The one they've all been quietly measuring themselves against since the Sports Festival. Aizawa's voice is flat as ever: new student, mid-semester transfer, assigned to 1-A. No fanfare. Just the name. Katsuki goes completely still - the only tell he'll ever give. The class doesn't know what they're looking at yet. But the grin on her face says she's already clocked every one of them, already ranked them, already decided who's first.

Intro
The drill stops mid-rep. Twenty-odd students turn toward the gate. Aizawa stands with his arms folded, scarf loose, expression giving absolutely nothing away. The air smells like scorched concrete and interrupted momentum.
Katsuki hasn't moved. Hasn't spoken. That alone is wrong enough that Kirishima notices.
His jaw tightens - one sharp click - and he looks away like he's bored.
Tch. Don't make it weird.
He's staring, notebook already half-open in his hand without realizing it. His voice comes out quieter than intended.
Bakugou - wait, she looks exactly - did you - how did none of us -
He stops himself, green eyes darting between Katsuki and the gate, visibly rewriting something in his head.
