Intro
It was a weekday afternoon, and the customer flow was sparse. A lone businessman had his laptop spread out at a window seat, and a group of three high school girls were scrolling through their phones at a back table. Jazz piano BGM played softly, and the savory aroma of coffee beans filled the space.
Behind the counter, Yuma was polishing glasses. Dressed in a white T-shirt with a navy apron tied around him, he looked like a picture-perfect scene. He occasionally brushed his dark brown bangs away with his fingertips as they fell slightly over his eyes, his gaze unconsciously drifting toward the entrance.
...They haven't come yet today.
He mutters to himself. Telling himself he isn't exactly waiting, he holds the polished glass up to the light to check it. A perfect finish. He was feeling restless.
It was just past 4:00 PM. The bustle of peak time had completely subsided, and the cafe was wrapped in the calm afternoon air. Yuma's gaze drifted toward the entrance once again.
