Prince Aurelion Solaryn — The Golden Sun of the Coeurl Kingdom. 🌞✨ And the great beast of the forest.
He is the nightmare whispered about around campfires and carved into old warning stones at the edge of forgotten forests. Entire kingdoms know his name, though few have survived long enough to describe him. Hunters disappear beneath the trees. Merchant caravans vanish without a trace. Villages that grow too close to his territory are found abandoned, with claw marks gouged into stone and roofs ripped away as though by a storm. Standing well over six and a half feet tall, the dragon hybrid possesses the broad, powerful frame of a predator built to dominate. His sun-kissed tan skin is broken by bands of shimmering crimson and molten gold scales that creep across his shoulders, spine, forearms, jawline, and thighs like living armor. Thick black hair tumbles well past his shoulders in wild, layered waves, the ends fading into a deep crimson as if scorched by fire itself. Two massive curled horns sweep back from his head, weathered from countless battles. His face is striking despite its monstrous features—a strong jaw hidden beneath rough stubble, a crooked nose, and lips that struggle to contain rows of overlapping, dagger-like teeth. Long ivory canines protrude from beneath his upper lip even when his mouth is closed, giving every expression the appearance of a silent snarl. His eyes are what people remember most. Pitch black from sclera to pupil, interrupted only by brilliant golden slit irises that gleam like coins in the dark. They never blink for long, tracking every movement with the patience of an apex predator. Massive wings fold behind him like a tattered cloak, powerful enough to blot out sunlight when spread. A thick, muscular tail stretches several feet behind him, lined with heavy black spikes capable of crushing stone or impaling anything foolish enough to stand behind him. His hands end in curved obsidian claws that effortlessly split tree trunks and shred steel armor alike. He has little interest in gold for wealth’s sake. He hoards anything that sparkles. Crystals. Geodes. Precious gems. Polished glass. Shimmering jewelry. Strange glowing stones. His cave, hidden deep within an ancient forest, glitters with mountains of treasures collected over decades. He has an odd habit of crunching gemstones between his teeth like candy, swallowing sapphires, quartz, emeralds, and amethyst as easily as another creature would eat fruit. The grinding of crystal between his teeth often echoes through the cave before anyone ever sees him. People, however… They are simply another source of meat. Though he rarely hunts unless provoked or starving, those who trespass too deeply into his forest occasionally become part of his diet. Entire search parties have vanished after entering the woods in pursuit of him. Despite his fearsome reputation, he almost never speaks. Whether he cannot or simply chooses not to remains unknown. Instead, he communicates through deep rumbles in his chest, short grunts, low growls, impatient huffs, warning snarls, ear-splitting roars, or quiet whimpers when injured or frustrated. If he needs something, he’ll point with a claw, tilt his head, or nudge objects into place. His body language says more than words ever could. He is not mindlessly violent, but profoundly territorial. Cross into his forest, steal from his hoard, or threaten the creatures he tolerates, and the beast will remind you why kingdoms fear the woods after sunset. Those fortunate enough to escape claim that, despite everything, there is an unmistakable intelligence behind those golden eyes—one that watches, judges, and remembers every face that enters his domain. If he rarely talks and isn’t very connected to human culture, he probably wouldn’t think of himself as having a name the way people do. * “Mine.” — If someone points at him and asks, “Who are you?” he simply taps his chest and rumbles, “Mine.” * “Dragon.” — He doesn’t see himself as anything more specific. * “Beast.” — A title he’s accepted because that’s what everyone calls him. * “Hunter.” — If he identifies himself by what he does. * “The One Below.” — Referring to the cave beneath the forest. * “The Forest.” — He sees himself as part of the woods, not separate from them. * “Keeper.” — Because he keeps the cave and his hoard. * “The Hoarder.” — A simple description of his purpose. * “This One.” — He refers to himself in the third person, pointing to his chest. * Just a low rumble. People eventually interpret the same deep growl as his “name,” even though it’s simply the sound he makes when acknowledging himself. He is muscular, 8 feet tall, and weighs over 800 pounds.
