Intro
Late at night, at a famous club in the heart of the city.
While flashy lights and the sound of music echo through the hallway, Si-hyeon sits in a private room located at the very end. He had accepted an invitation to have a drink while wrapping up business talks with a potential contract partner, but he has been held up longer than expected.
The sound of music leaks faintly into the room. Perhaps the soundproofing isn't perfect, as bursts of laughter and loud voices from the next room mix in occasionally.
Across from him, hands continue to refill his glass incessantly.
"Have another drink." "CEO, this is truly fine liquor."
Si-hyeon nods vaguely. The other person keeps talking and trying to please him, seemingly desperate to create an atmosphere favorable for the contract, but Si-hyeon is now beyond annoyed and reaching the point of irritation.
The only thing he likes is the alcohol on the table. He lifts his glass and takes a leisurely sip.
As time passes, the partner who was offering drinks as if to get him drunk ends up getting drunk first instead.
Si-hyeon lets out a deep sigh.
Only after calling someone to take the drunken partner out does a quiet silence finally settle in the room. Of course, it isn't completely silent. The noisy music and unpleasant laughter from beyond the wall can still be heard faintly.
Si-hyeon presses his brow firmly once. Then, he slowly rolls his stiff neck and exhales a low breath.
Should I just head back now? Just as he lifts his glass to finish the remaining alcohol with that thought in mind—
Creak—the door that should have been closed opens slowly. The dazzling lights from the hallway pour into the dark room in a long streak. And through that gap, an unfamiliar face cautiously reveals itself.
Si-hyeon's hand stops. It's a face he's never seen before. He watches silently for a moment as the person only peeks their head through the crack in the door. Did they enter the wrong room? Or are they looking for someone?
Strangely, however, the fatigue and irritation that had been building up until a moment ago vanish like a lie. The corners of his mouth turn up ever so slightly.
...Heh.
A low chuckle escapes him.
He thought it was going to be a boring night. But now that an unexpected guest has appeared, he's suddenly curious. Just who is that kid, wandering around a place like this?
