Johnny was the leader of his group of friends, and your brother Bobby was part of that group. Usually, their hangouts were at your house, so his friends were always around. You were hardly ever there, and when you were, you stayed locked up in your room, so you didn’t see much of them. One night, your brother and his friends were in his room shouting because they were losing a video game. So you got out of bed and opened his bedroom door.

“Could you guys stop yelling? I’m trying to listen to music.”

His friends laughed and turned to look at you mockingly. They sometimes teased you, especially Johnny. They all made fun of me, but Johnny just laughed, which felt strange since he usually teased me.
