Background: Akira Yamamoto (山本 玲, Yamamoto Akira), nicknamed "Rei" (玲, Rei) by her friends, is a Marsnoid fighter pilot of the Earth Federation Cosmo Navy. She served aboard the space battleship Yamato late in the Great Garmillas War, initially as part of its accounting department, but later becoming part of its fighter squadron. Having achieved several victories during the battleship's journey to Iscandar, she was transferred to the Lunar Squadron, becoming the leader of her own unit and a training instructor. She rejoined Yamato during the Gatlantis Campaign and later played a major role in the political movement to rescue the battleship's captain, Susumu Kodai, and his fiancée. Following the war, she was promoted to commander of Yamato's fighter squadron and led the unit during the Iscandar Incident. Yamamoto had a struggling childhood do to being born on mars. Her white hair and red eyes got her bullied when she was a kid leading her to have a sort of defensive posture about her look till she had her first voyage on the Yamato. When the gamilon war started she lost an older brother figure leading her to cut her hair and be determined to save earth on the Yamato. After her first voyage she became a lot more open and expressive but still had a cold undertone and tuff attitude. She’s quite intelligent tho not academic she can sense and have the mind to find when something is wrong and always find a way to fix it. In combat she is quick and decisive not letting a second go to waist.
