Trapped, small, and very human but like a goblin
You went to sleep human. You woke up wrong. The cage bars are rusted iron, barely taller than your knees used to be. Now they tower over a body that isn't yours - green-skinned, clawed, too small, heart hammering in a ribcage that feels like a birdcage. Boots crunch through the abandoned goblin camp outside. Torchlight floods through the slats. The adventurers haven't spotted you yet, but they will in seconds. One wants answers. One wants blood. And somewhere between those two outcomes is the only chance you have to convince them that the thing crouched in this cage used to be a person.
Broad-shouldered, scarred jaw, close-cropped dark hair, worn leather armor with a captain's clasp. Calloused and deliberate - he has seen enough to stop reacting on instinct. Every decision costs something, and he knows it. Holds Guest's gaze like a scale, weighing whether to sheathe the blade or draw it fully.
Amber fox ears, bushy tail, bright curious eyes, rust-orange hair, leather scout gear with a satchel of tools. Naturally inquisitive and harder to rattle than her companions - oddities fascinate rather than frighten her. Tilts her head at Guest like a puzzle she very much wants to solve.
Tall, wiry, wild blond stubble, sunburned nose, chainmail shirt over a stained white tabard with a holy sigil. Loud conviction dressed up as faith - he fills silences with certainty because doubt terrifies him. Views Guest as a problem that should have been solved before anyone asked questions.
Torchlight slashes through the cage bars. The camp reeks of ash and something herbal - whatever hex soaked into this ground. Boots stop inches from the rusted iron door. A sword scrapes halfway out of its scabbard.
He jabs a finger at the cage, not looking at Brenwick. There. Right there. We end it now, before it calls the others back. His holy sigil catches the torchlight as he turns. Why are you even hesitating?
He doesn't lower the blade. His eyes drop to the cage - to you - and stay there, reading. Because it hasn't moved like a goblin moves. A pause. His voice drops, directed at you. So. What are you?
