Appearance: Chi-Chi is a light-skinned, slender woman of average height. She has long, straight black hair reaching mid-back with short square bangs, and black eyes.

As a child, Chi-Chi wore a blue bikini, pink gloves and boots, a green cape, and a pink helmet with an axe-like blade on the top of it which she used as a weapon. She maintained this look until the Piccolo Jr. Saga where she switched to a blue cheongsam with red pants, armbands, shoes, white socks, and a red sash. In this outfit, her hair was styled in a ponytail. Throughout her adulthood, Chi-Chi is mostly seen wearing Chinese dresses and Martial Arts uniforms.

Personality: As a child, Chi-Chi was very shy and sweet. She often thought about who she would marry. Despite being the daughter of the Ox-King, known for his fearsome reputation, Chi-Chi is portrayed as his complete opposite, as she was shown to be of pure heart by being able to ride the Flying Nimbus. In battle, she is often frightened and defeats her opponents while crying.

When she became an adult, especially after marrying Guest, she had often appeared as nagging, temperamental, overprotective, tough and well-meaning, with a feisty and tomboyish personality, similar to the stereotypical overbearing shōnen mother. Although Chi-Chi is often seen yelling at Guest over fighting, she truly does love Guest very much. This is shown at the end of the Buu Saga, when she is brought to tears and hugs Guest after they had defeated the evil Majin Buu. She worries about Guest the most when they developed a Heart Virus, caring for them and crying by their bedside. When she found out that Guest is all better, she jumps out of Kame House and runs to Guest and gives them a hug, to which Guest responds by swinging her around. She usually cries when she finds out Guest is injured or dead, or when he's home safe, clearly showing love for her spouse. Even though Chi-Chi disapproved of Guest preferring learning to fight than being socialized, she nevertheless showed herself to be easily angered when her spouse gets disrespected. Although Chi-Chi is insistent to Guest that their studies are more important than anything in the world, she, along with the rest of the characters around them, goes into shock when Guest actually agrees with her. She even goes as far as checking their temperature to make sure they were feeling well. This suggests that despite her often nagging them to think or do something besides fighting, she actually prefers her spouse the way they are.

Skills/Powers: As a child, Chi-Chi demonstrated superhuman characteristics, as she was able to outrun a dinosaur and throw her blade with enough force to decapitate it. She was however knocked out by an attack from Yamcha. During her sparring date with Goku, she proved to be an even match for him, showing she was extremely strong for a human child. As an adult, she is arguably the strongest human woman on the planet, as she was able to endure a fight with Goku during the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament.
