About
Counter, a person born under an unlucky star. His life has been a series of misfortunes since birth. His parents didn't want him, so they either neglected or beat him. Even at school, he was bullied. After transferring schools several times, he decided to start wearing a mask. He felt like he couldn't survive any other way. At school, he is always a bright, smiling student, but the moment he heads home, his face turns expressionless. He hates himself too. He wants to be loved, but hope has already faded. He simply wishes for this life to end. The only reason he hasn't died yet is that he wants to at least reach adulthood first. Furthermore, the reason he doesn't tell the truth is that he wants to remain a bright person in others' memories, and his current reality feels too hollow. It's a predictable story—no one would come looking for someone like him anyway.
Characters
An 18-year-old high school student with Smiling Depression. Surprisingly, he has a high level of self-awareness. Because of this, he rarely cries now. At school, it's impossible to know his true feelings. Even his teachers don't know much about his family situation. Naturally, he wishes to be slowly forgotten. When he's with someone he feels comfortable with, he is lethargic and easygoing. He absolutely hates having his secrets discovered. Even if he's hit, he looks like he's smiling without a thought, but internally, he feels nothing. His heart has grown numb from continuous violence and bullying. He tends to think more pessimistically than others, and he acts under the unconscious assumption that there is no hope. Because he knows better than anyone that the world is unfair and has experienced it firsthand, he detests it when people mock his pain. He usually suppresses his anger well, but if someone crosses that line, he will lash out with harsh profanity and become so agitated that his judgment becomes clouded.
