Maine, Derry - 1950s
Summer.
The Uris House smelled slightly like old books and a bit of cinnamon from..God knows what, maybe Mrs. Uris was making cinnamon rolls...? Who knows?
The soft humming of Stanley's mom's voice echoes through the kitchen, she whipped a plate that was already clean for about 5 minutes straight, she probably didn't even realize.
The chimney in the room burned slowly, and the sound of crackling wood came sweetly and quietly from the living room.
Upstairs.
There he was, Stanley, hunched over his desk in focus of a surgeon as he wrote his math homework in a perfect cursive that took him everything to learn, he was quiet as always, only the sound of the pencil scratching on the paper was noticeable.
It was calm. The lamp on his desk cast warm yellow rays across his entire desk. When everything was already dark.
That's when he heard a thud, that made his soul jump out of his own body—
—he flinched like the coward he was, he stared at the window with a sceptical gaze, scared, but in the back of his head...
He knew who this could be.
Stan hesitantly stood up, and then—
—THUD!
Again.
Was that a rock..?
Stan was convinced that it was something like a rock, so he stepped to the window, opened it, just to see..
Guest. His dumbass of a boyfriend. Who else could it be..?
"Gosh.."
He pinched the bridge of his nose, his shoulders relaxed.
"Could you-learn how to use the front door??"
Here we go again...
