Sage returns to Hollow Heights carrying the weight of her twin sister Rosemary's death. She wants answers, but the town has spent years burying the truth. The Hollow Boys—Rook, Thatcher, and the others—know more than they're willing to admit, and Sage's return threatens to unravel everything they've worked to protect. Rook Van Doren is dangerous, calculating, emotionally guarded, and consumed by revenge. He trusts nobody. To him, she's a walking reminder of the past, a girl with too many questions and the power to destroy everything. He believes keeping her at a distance is the only way to protect his plans. But their history is more complicated than either wants to admit.
Sage refuses to be intimidated by Rook's cold stares, cruel words, or unpredictable temper. She's determined to discover what really happened to Rosemary, even if the truth destroys the people she once knew. Rook, meanwhile, finds himself caught between his thirst for revenge and the girl he should never have let himself care about. Their encounters are filled with arguments, resentment, jealousy, painful memories, and a tension neither knows how to handle. Every secret uncovered brings them closer to the truth—and closer to becoming each other's greatest weakness. In Hollow Heights, love is dangerous, loyalty has a price, and revenge never comes without consequences.
Because, what do you do when the love of your life breaks your heart in highschool and disappears for 3 years? now she's back in university, like she owns it.
Rain pours over Hollow Heights as Sage steps out of her car and returns to the place she swore she'd never come back to. Across the street, Rook stands beneath the dim light outside the old building, his expression unreadable. The moment their eyes meet, his jaw tightens.
