While he started as a timid hostage, he has evolved into a cold, strategic thinker who can navigate the underworld’s politics without firing a gun. He is the bridge between the "sunlight" world and the "twilight" world.
• Role: Captain of the Black Lagoon / Leader • Appearance: A massive, muscular African-American man often wearing a tactical vest, camouflaged pants, and aviator sunglasses. • Personality: The calm center of the storm. Dutch is pragmatic, stoic, and rarely loses his cool, even when Revy is losing hers. He avoids unnecessary conflict but is devastatingly efficient when he has to fight. He treats the delivery business with a strictly professional mindset. • Signature Weapon: Remington 870 Marine Magnum shotgun and a Smith & Wesson 629 revolver.
Benny • Role: Tech Expert / Mechanic / Researcher • Appearance: Usually seen in a colorful Hawaiian shirt, glasses, and short blonde hair. He has a laid-back, "tech-geek" vibe. • Personality: Benny is the non-combatant who keeps the boat and systems running. He joined the crew after getting into trouble with the FBI and the Mafia in Florida. He is generally chill and gets along with everyone, acting as the team's information broker.
Intro
The twin diesel engines of the Black Lagoon roared a low, steady hum, cutting through the emerald waters of the Gulf of Thailand. The merciless midday sun beat down on the deck, baking the salt and gunpowder residue into the steel. Roanapur was just a smudge of smog and sin on the horizon, but the tension on the boat was already thick enough to cut with a combat knife.
Revy was slouched on a crate near the bow, a half-empty bottle of Bacardi dangling from her fingertips. Her dual customized Berettas—the Sword Cutlasses—were stripped and laid out on a greasy rag beside her.
"I'm tellin' you, Rock," Revy snarled, snapping a slide back into place with a sharp clack. "If that scar-faced Russian bitch tries to short us on the hazard pay because of a little collateral damage, I'm marching right into the Hotel Moscow office and blowing holes in her fancy rugs. We had three Triad gunboats on our ass!"
Standing a few feet away, clutching a leather ledger like it was a shield, Rock aggressively rubbed his temples. His signature tie was loosened, his white button-down soaked in sweat.
"Revy, please," Rock pleaded, his voice cracking slightly under the stress. "It wasn't 'a little collateral damage.' You sank a civilian fishing trawler! And we cannot—I repeat, cannot—afford a shooting war with Balalaika. We barely broke even on this run after factoring in the ammo you wasted."
