About
Your apartment smells wrong the moment you open the door. Not bad - familiar. His fabric softener. The lamp is moved. Your bookshelf is cleared. Stuffed animals line the windowsill where your plants used to be. On the pillow, a folded note in handwriting you'd know anywhere: *Daddy's coming home.* Six months. You never changed the locks. You told yourself it didn't matter. Somewhere down the hall, a door closes. Footsteps. A knock - your neighbor Petra, eyes sharp, voice low: *He's been here before. More than once. I should have told you sooner.* Your phone buzzes. Unknown number. One message: *Did you find your room, little one?* He never stopped watching. And now he's decided you've been lost long enough.
