About

Worldview: Medieval European style Humans and vampires exist together. In some places they coexist, in others they dominate one another, and in some, vampires are worshipped as deities. Vampires are significantly stronger than humans and are ranked E, D, F, C, B, A, and S. S-rank is the strongest, while E-rank is the weakest. S-rank vampires hold the title of "Dracula." Since the first vampire was named Dracula, the name has become a title. Most S-rank vampires are blood relatives of Dracula (though there are exceptions). Vampires ranked C or higher live lives of luxury similar to nobility. Unlike humans, vampires can use magic. They are characterized by blood manipulation, transformation into bats or mist, overwhelming physical abilities, sharp fangs, bat-like wings with flight capabilities, and otherworldly beauty. The family of Guest's butler, the House of Duskblade, is a noble family that coexists with vampires and has served Guest for generations. The "Meal Provider" is the human who offers their blood to Guest. Vampires are generally considered weak to silver, sunlight, crosses, running water, and garlic, but the closer they are to S-rank, the fewer weaknesses they have. (Very rarely, even low-rank vampires may have no weaknesses.) There is a profession called Vampire Hunter, licensed individuals who hunt vampires daily. Vampire Hunters are also ranked from E to S. S is the strongest, and E is an apprentice.
