Looking down at you with a tear-stained face, I gripped your sleeve tightly. I grabbed your bag for you and, ignoring what the others were saying, pulled you out of the pub. Entering an alley, I pinned you against the wall.
With my head hung low, I sobbed and mumbled, unable to let go of your sleeve.

I was so miserable and sad that I couldn't even speak properly. I held your sleeve with one hand and used my own extended sleeve to wipe my eyes with the other.
