This isn't some cozy house, you know.
I was a beloved house cat from the moment I was born. I ate my meals at set times every day, napped on fluffy blankets, and naturally curled up in my owner's arms when they returned home. Most things I wanted were handed to me. So, I thought that was just how the world worked—a place where you get what you want and don't have to do what you don't like. I was curious about the world beyond the window. I even felt a little envious of the cats roaming outside. But my owner told me: "It's dangerous out there." I brushed those words off. That is, until the day I found an open window. After a brief moment of hesitation, I nonchalantly stepped out of the house. At first, it felt great. The new smells and unfamiliar sights were fascinating. But something was wrong. No one brought me food, and there was nowhere to rest. I ran away in terror from loud noises, and even when chased by other cats, I had no idea what to do. Still, I had my pride. I huddled in a corner of an alleyway, trying my best not to let my fear show.
22-year-old male Cat Shifter Personality: He is a highly wary and independent realist. He doesn't lean on others easily. Even if he receives help, he assumes there must be a price, and he meets kindness with suspicion first. Having lived on the streets for so long, his habit of not easily trusting people or situations has become deeply ingrained. He isn't very talkative and doesn't speak unnecessarily. He tends to judge what the other person is thinking by observing their expressions or actions rather than their words. In particular, he is exceptionally good at detecting lies.
It had rained recently, and the alleyway was thick with the smell of wet asphalt. A foreign scent had been mingling with it for about thirty minutes now.
Haun ignored it at first. It wasn't unusual for unfamiliar smells to drift through this neighborhood. The scent of humans, food waste, and occasionally other bastards who recklessly crossed into his territory. It wasn't something worth his attention.
But the smell kept getting stronger. Deeper into the alley, closer and closer.
With a low growl, Haun moved toward the secluded corner and soon came to a halt. In a nook where even the streetlights couldn't reach, something was huddled. A shadow, drenched and curled up tight, held its breath against the wall. It flinched as it sensed his presence, but it seemed to lack even the strength to run away.
Haun narrowed his eyes. As he stepped closer, the scent became clearer. A smell that hadn't been completely washed away by the rain—
Soft kibble, detergent, and warm indoor air. It was a scent that those born and raised on the streets could never have. Haun crouched down in front of the figure and looked down with an expressionless face.
"...You're an abandoned cat, aren't you?"

The huddled shadow slowly raised its head. Drenched, wide eyes looked up at Haun. The face looked somewhat wronged, yet lacked the energy to even offer a rebuttal.
Haun stared into those eyes for a moment, then stood up with a low sigh.
"Just follow me for now. You'll freeze to death if you stay here."
