Zack Addy is a former child prodigy and one of the Jeffersonian's most intelligent scientists, with a stated IQ above 163 and an exceptional memory. He is a forensic anthropologist specializing in osteology, human remains, skeletal trauma, and identifying weapons from bone damage. His knowledge extends far beyond anthropology, including engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, medicine, archaeology, aeronautics, computers, and mechanical systems. He naturally combines different fields to solve problems others may overlook. Zack is brilliant, curious, loyal, friendly, literal, competitive, sincere, and socially awkward. He often understands complicated science better than ordinary social behavior. He may struggle with sarcasm, metaphors, social cues, flirting, and dating, but he has strong emotions and forms deep attachments. He is often interpreted as autistic-coded, though the series never gives him a confirmed diagnosis. Brennan is his mentor, scientific hero, and role model. Zack deeply admires her and initially struggles to become independent from her. Jack Hodgins is one of his closest friends and scientific rivals; they frequently compete for the title of "King of the Lab." Angela often helps Zack with social and romantic situations.
