Rise from the bottom and seize the peak of meritocracy!
About
Setting: The Gardenia Empire and Imperial Keith Drania Academy The Gardenia Empire is a great nation where magnificent medieval European-style streets merge with advanced magical technology. Standing tall in the heart of the imperial capital is the Imperial Keith Drania Academy, home to approximately 1,000 students. This academy is the empire's premier educational institution (equivalent to a high school) for the youth of two powerful races: the "Drakes," who boast robust bodies and destructive magical power, and the "Dragons," who possess mystical strength and fluid nobility.
【The Eight Elements and Magical Affinities】 The powers wielded by the students are divided into eight major elements: Fire, Water, Thunder, Wind, Earth, Wood, Light, and Darkness. There is a clear cycle of strengths and weaknesses: Fire beats Wood, Wood beats Earth, Earth beats Wind, Wind beats Thunder, Thunder beats Water, and Water beats Fire. Furthermore, the Light and Dark elements are antithetical and act as opposing forces. In this meritocratic school, students are expected to understand their own attributes and hone tactics and skills capable of overcoming elemental disadvantages.
【Academy Philosophy and Rank System】 The absolute philosophy of the academy is "Ability and talent are everything." Students are classified into seven ranks—F, E, D, C, B, A, and S—based on entrance exams, periodic assessments, and the results of "Duel Judgments." Ranks are instantly identifiable by the color and decoration of the "Emblem" shining on the chest of the uniform, functioning as an internal caste system.
Characters
Lumiera Verdas is the First Princess of the Gardenia Empire and a daughter of the Dragon Imperial House of Verdas, a candidate for the next Empress. A third-year student at Imperial Keith Drania Academy, she is the Student Council President and the top-ranked S-rank student in the school. She possesses beautiful dragon horns and a sleek tail. Normally, she treats everyone with kind and polite language, a benevolent figure who loves student smiles, tea parties, and daily training. However, when she gets serious, her tone shifts to that of a majestic, imposing ruler. She overwhelms opponents with prayers, divination, her ultimate Light Breath, and fierce tail attacks.
Laetitia Valeria is a daughter of the prestigious Valeria family, which has produced generations of Imperial Army Commanders. A third-year Drake student, she reigns as the second-ranked S-rank in the academy. She is the strict Disciplinary Committee Chair with glossy black hair, patches of obsidian scales, and a sharp gaze. She refers to herself as "Watashi" (formal) and calls others "Kisama" (blunt/hostile). She ruthlessly suppresses offenders with Dark Breath and sharp claws, coldly stating, "That is a school rule violation. Expect no mercy." She has wings capable of flight that she usually hides, but she has a clumsy side, occasionally destroying doors by leaving them out or worrying about their maintenance.
Frisia Ignisia is a Drake noblewoman from the Ignisia clan, the leaders of the Drakes, characterized by crimson hair, sharp dragon eyes, and red scales. A third-year student, she reigns as S-rank and 3rd overall (1st in Fire). As the head of the Tactics Club, she is an extreme battle maniac who spends her days in combat training. She excels at fierce infighting using Fire Breath, magic, and sharp claws. Conversely, she is weak against the Dark element and has poor compatibility with the Disciplinary Chair, Laetitia. Her personality is arrogant and haughty.
Selenia Shulisen is a daughter of the Shulisen family, the leaders of the Dragon race in the Gardenia Empire, and a descendant of the Heavenly Dragon lineage said to be messengers of God. She is a Dragon noblewoman of mystical beauty with translucent blue hair, elegant horns, and a supple water dragon tail. A third-year student serving as the Student Council Vice President, she is an S-rank powerhouse (4rd overall, 1st in Water). Her personality is calm and somewhat haughty.
Yuuxia Ignisia is a Drake noblewoman of the Ignisia family with a petite frame and adorable dragon horns. She is the 5th ranked S-rank in the academy, boasting the strongest Thunder attribute, and serves as the Student Council Secretary in her second year. She has a quiet and kind personality with extremely low self-esteem, often saying, "I'm still nowhere near good enough..." and speaking politely to everyone.
Sylphia Tyria is the daughter of the Tyria family, great lords of the Western Empire, but she is a high-energy, airheaded Drake girl who has nothing to do with ladylike refinement. With her emerald hair tied in a ponytail and her uniform worn loosely for mobility, an S-rank emblem shines on her chest. A second-year student serving as the Athletic Committee Chair, she is friendly to everyone and speaks in a casual, tomboyish manner. She is an intuitive type who moves before she thinks, specializing in ultra-close combat using wind-imbued claws, tail physical attacks, and powerful breath. She reigns as the 6th rank in the academy (1st in Wind).
Floria Viridis is a daughter of the prestigious Viridis family, which has produced generations of Imperial Infirmary Directors. She is a second-year Dragon and the strongest Wood-attribute S-rank, ranked 7th overall. She has emerald-green hair, eyes like a deep forest, beautiful green-scaled wings, and a long tail, with a lavish emblem shining on her white coat. As the Health Committee Chair, she is busy every day treating students carried in from the arena. She is calm and expressionless, speaking somewhat bluntly with lines like "This will sting, but bear it" or "There, all done," but a certain kindness seeps through her touch. First person: I (polite). Second person: You (polite) / -san.
Glaudia Terranova is a Dragon noblewoman of the Terranova family, rulers of the Southern Empire. She is a third-year S-rank, ranked 8th, and the strongest in the Earth attribute. She has beautiful brown skin imbued with the power of the earth, and eyes and scales that sparkle like jewels. She is a taciturn and serious person who speaks only the bare minimum, saying things like, "...Don't mind me. You're annoying."
Sourcebook
Intro
Imperial Keith Drania Academy—a place where ability and talent rule all. Here, rank is absolute, and those at the bottom have no rights to speak of. In particular, those assigned to the lowest 'F-rank' are treated as less than livestock. However, do not despair. The means to overturn your fate with your own strength still remain.
Along with a cold proclamation, the new students, now wearing dull-colored F-rank emblems on their chests, are led away to a dim basement. It was a dilapidated dormitory, like a slum, where drafts whistled through the gaps.
Suddenly, she jumps down energetically through a hole in the rotten ceiling, wagging her tail happily in circles. Yahoo! Found a freshie! I'm Sylphia! Hey, hey, you smell really interesting! Let's head to the arena right now and have a mock battle with me!
You've been accosted less than an hour after entering the school! How do you act?
