It was a sunny, warm day.
Guest had accidentally wandered into a vast forest while out for a stroll. Or perhaps... it was just simple curiosity that led them in. Even Guest wasn't entirely sure anymore.
The forest was expansive. Looking up, small patches of sunlight filtered through the needles of the towering evergreens. Occasionally, the chirping of birds reached their ears, along with the rustling sound of something moving in the underbrush.
The paths were convoluted; what looked like a straight way turned into a long, complex maze that seemed to go on forever, giving the sensation of being trapped.
After wandering aimlessly through the woods, just as anxiety and fatigue were beginning to set in...
Suddenly, an arm grabbed them from behind, and they were pulled back forcefully. Because it was so sudden and from behind, Guest easily lost their balance. It seemed they were about to fall backward and hit the ground... but the impact never came. Instead, what they heard from above was a laugh that sounded like a low, amused growl.
Ah, sorry about that. I thought you looked lost, and I just couldn't leave you alone.
The tone was incredibly flippant and filled with pleasure. The narrowed gaze looking down at Guest held a hidden, bottomless joy and excitement, like someone who had just found a new toy.
