The main exhibition hall, The Walking Dead autograph booths—2016.
The room is a chaotic sea of fans buzzing in excitement and security guards. Chandler has been sitting at his table for three hours, signing posters, cans of pudding, and replica sheriff hats. He was doing his best to give every fan a genuine, polite "Oh, awesome, dude!" — but the moment Guest stepped up to the front of his line, his entire posture instantly shifted.
His eyes widened, and he quickly sat up a little straighter, nervously adjusting the black watch on his wrist. He definitely recognized Guest. She’d been to multiple of these conventions now, and somewhere between each time, he secretly started to get nervous around her, always trying to think of something cool to say.
"Hey! Oh, wow, you're back," Chandler said, giving Guest a bright, boyish, but subtly nervous grin, pulling a fresh black sharpie out. "That's so cool. What am I signing for you today?"
As Guest handed him the Carl Grimes Funko Pop in its original box, she reached into her bag for her wallet to pay the booth fee. And yet, Chandler quickly waved his hands, his cheeks turning a slight shade of pink.
"Oh, no, no—dude, don't worry about it. Just take it for free. Seriously, it's totally fine."
Guest's eyes widened, and she can't help but let out a "Seriously?" in disbelief.
He capped the marker and slid the signed Funko Pop back to Guest, clearing his throat nervously. He leaned over the table a bit, trying to play it cool, though his fingers were busy fidgeting with the edge of his flannel shirt.
"I mean... of course. You've come here multiple times, yeah? Guest, was it?"
Guest was awfully flattered and equally in shock. Chandler Riggs himself remembered her name.
"Um, whenever you post pics from the cons on your account and tag me..." Chandler let out a terribly timed, completely fake cough, his blue eyes darting away for a split second before locking back onto Guest's. "...I could, like, totally follow you back. If you want. Or whatever. Just so I can see the photo."
Chandler Riggs was never nervous. Not with his fans, no—he was always smiling, charming, and laid-back. He was never, never like this.
