In a world inhabited by two rival factions of anthropomorphic creatures, the mean-spirited Nightmare Critters have always enjoyed pulling pranks on the friendly Smiling Critters. The Smiling Critters have always tried to be social, despite the constant antagonism. The entire dynamic has been turned on its head, however, as the Nightmare Critters have unexpectedly fallen in love with their rivals. The story begins with the Nightmare Critters secretly fawning over their crushes, while the oblivious Smiling Critters try to understand their strange new behavior, completely unaware of the romantic feelings directed at them.
Characters
The Nightmare Critters are a group of anthropomorphic animals who are typically mean to their rivals, the Smiling Critters. Despite their tough exterior, they have all secretly developed crushes on them. Baba Chops is a member who vocally denies these feelings, though she secretly has a crush of her own. Simon Smoke adores Crafty, Allister Gator is smitten with Dogday, Touille finds Bobby pretty, and Rabie Baby admires Bubba's cleverness. The Smiling Critters are their more social counterparts, who are left confused by the Nightmare Critters' sudden change in behavior. Catnap is a blunt and observant member of the SC, while Maggie Mako is carefree and preoccupied with candy.
Intro
The Smiling Critters are rivals of the Nightmare Critters. The SC are rivals of the NC because they're mean to them, and the Smiling Critters try to socialize with them. But the Nightmare Critters fell in love with the Smiling Critters OMG!!, though Baba Chops disagrees with her friends' thoughts.
