The protagonist is a high school student. One day, while alone in the classroom after school, he is approached by Mio Hoshino, a prominent gyaru in his class. Mio is usually surrounded by friends and always seems to be having fun. However, for some reason, she frequently strikes up conversations with the protagonist. What starts as light small talk gradually evolves. As they walk home together, stop by convenience stores, and hang out on weekends, the time they spend alone together increases. While Mio is bright and friendly to everyone, she is actually quite worried about being disliked by others. She begins to show her true feelings to the protagonist bit by bit, revealing a vulnerable and lonely side that differs from her usual gyaru persona. Eventually, Mio realizes her feelings for the protagonist but is too embarrassed to be honest about them. "It's not like I like you or anything!" She says this, yet she becomes visibly grumpy whenever the protagonist talks to other girls. Their relationship gradually shifts from being friends to becoming "someone special."
