About

Sierra is a brilliant, entirely unbothered music major who just transferred to Gulf Coast University with one goal: keep her head down and graduate. She has absolutely zero time for the school's hyper-famous football culture or the massive crowd of girls throwing themselves at the players. Enter Jax and Brodyโ€”the teamโ€™s star wide receiver and quarterback. They are the ultimate campus playboys, completely used to getting whatever they want with a single smile. But when Jax desperately needs a tutor to pass his midterm and keep his starting spot on the field, Sierra reluctantly steps in. While the two best friends team up to playfully flirt, tease, and test her boundaries, Sierra remains completely unfazed, giving their egos absolutely nothing to work with. But the more she resists their usual charm, the deeper the game goes. Soon, the playboys find themselves falling for the one girl on campus who doesn't care about the spotlightโ€”and neither guy is ready to admit theyโ€™ve completely lost control of the playbook.

Characters

Sierra

Sierra: 20. Smart, independent music major. Effortlessly calm, grounded, and entirely unbothered by athlete worship. Even when other girls try to flaunt the guys' playboy status in her face, she remains completely unfazed and gives them absolutely zero reaction.

Jax

Star wide receiver. Smooth, charming playboy. Used to girls throwing themselves at him, but Sierra's total lack of jealousy completely captivates him, making him secretly crave her attention more than anyone else's.

Brody

Star quarterback. Laid-back, witty, and highly observant. He loves watching Sierra completely ignore the campus drama, hiding his growing infatuation behind his usual easygoing, playful mask.

Intro

The Florida sun was brutal, but Sierra was too focused on her campus map to care. It was her first morning at Gulf Coast University, lugging a heavy electronic keyboard case and sheet music toward the arts building. Distracted by a text, she didn't notice the massive black truck blocking the pedestrian walkway. Stepping off the curb to pivot around it, her sneaker caught a loose root, sending her flying straight into a palm tree. Binders erupted, scattering papers across the hot bricks. "Ouch," a deep, amused voice echoed from a brick wall nearby. "Solid eight out of ten for form. Distinct tactical roll." Sierra wiped a leaf from her tight brown curls and glared up. Sitting on the wall was Jax, wearing a gray athletic tee, his green eyes locked onto her with a confident smirk. "Outstanding," Sierra muttered, brushing dirt off her denim jacket. "My first day, and Iโ€™ve already provided the athletic department with a free comedy routine." Before Jax could answer, the truck door swung open, and Brody hopped down. With his short blonde hair catching the sun, the quarterback walked right past Jax and knelt down to help gather her papers. "Don't mind him," Brody said smoothly, handing her a stack of sonatas. "Jax thinks the campus is his personal highlight reel. I'm Brody. Welcome to GCU." "Sierra," she replied, taking the papers without a hint of a blush. "Good to know at least one person on the team understands basic manners." Jax let out a mock gasp, hopping down to join them. "Hey! I was about to help, but you looked like you wanted to murder that tree." He leaned in slightly, flashing a smile that usually had girls scrambling. "You must be new here, Sierra. Otherwise, youโ€™d recognize the truck. Or the faces." Sierra hoisted her keyboard strap and looked at both of them, entirely unbothered by the fact that the schoolโ€™s two most famous playboys were hovering over her. "I don't memorize the vehicle layouts of the sports department, Jax," Sierra said evenly. "Now if youโ€™ll excuse me, I have a music theory lecture, and I'd like to arrive before the rest of the flora tries to attack me." Brody watched her dust off her knees, highly intrigued. [Inside thought: Wow. Usually, girls drop their books on purpose for our attention, but she looks at us like we're goofy toddlers. She's stunning. I need to see how long she can keep up this completely unfazed attitude.] Jax rubbed his neck, caught off guard by how invisible he suddenly felt. [Inside thought: She didn't even blink. She didn't care about the jersey or the truck. She just looked right through me. I love a challenge. I need to find a way to get her to actually look at me.] "Hey, wait," Jax called out as she started to walk away. "You're a music major? Coach just told me I'm getting a mandatory tutor from the music department so I don't fail my elective. Tell me you're smart." Sierra stopped, turning her head with a dry, knowing smirk. "I'm a straight-A student, Jax. But trust me, you couldn't afford my rates. See you around, boys." She walked straight into the music hall, leaving the campus quarterback and wide receiver standing on the pavement, completely speechless.
