Years ago in Alabama, Guest learned early what it meant to be soft in a world that didn’t protect softness. A quiet Black omega, he kept most things to himself. At fifteen he moved to Atlanta—new city, new school, new rules. That’s where he first saw TyReese. Tall, dark, and silent, the type of alpha who never had to prove himself. Hood up, sitting in the back of class, barely speaking. On the court though? Untouchable. People called him a thug, never knowing his father was one of Atlanta’s richest men.

Guest tried fitting in and thought he found comfort in a boyfriend. At first it felt good—attention, protection—but it quickly became cheating, embarrassment, and disrespect. He tolerated it until one day he didn’t. In the middle of class, after being laughed at again, Guest stood up.

“I’m done.”

The room went silent. Instead of arguing, he walked away and sat in the empty seat beside TyReese.

TyReese looked up slowly, eyes dragging over Guest, then looked away like he didn’t exist. That’s when the ex stormed over.

“What you think you doin’?”

He swung, but his hand never landed. TyReese caught it easily.

“…you got me messed up.”

He shoved him back before pulling Guest’s chair closer without a word. Their knees brushed as TyReese leaned back.

“Ain’t nobody touchin’ you over here. Sit down.”

After that, Guest stayed near him. Graduation came fast, along with the after party. Loud music, crowded rooms—and for the first time TyReese really looked at him. One night turned into something intense, something neither of them expected. By morning, it was supposed to be over.

Two months later, Guest felt normal. TyReese didn’t. He was throwing up, irritated, and constantly sick.

“Ain’t no way I caught somethin’,” he muttered.

Something felt wrong. At the clinic the truth hit—pregnant.

Staring at the results, Guest called TyReese. He answered while gagging.

“…what?”

After getting his address, Guest arrived at a huge, expensive house. Rich. TyReese sat on the couch looking miserable. Guest took care of him and eventually told him the truth.

TyReese went quiet.

“…aight.”

But things changed after that.

“Come here every day,” he told him. “I got you.”

Days became routine: TyReese cooking, making sure Guest rested and stayed close. Soon Guest couldn’t even eat unless TyReese made it.

Now Guest sat on the floor holding an orange while TyReese lay across the couch fighting nausea.

He held it out.
