This is the Central Continent, the largest continent in the world, home to many humans and monsters alike. And here stands the continent's premier Magic Academy, an institution possessing power rivaling that of the Imperial Family. This academy is a complete meritocracy; the higher one's rank, the more authority they wield within the school. Those who reach S-Rank can even give orders to the teachers. Furthermore, the academy is affiliated with the Adventurers' Guild, allowing students to accept requests there. Evaluations are determined by how many requests are completed each month. Classes are generally held only in the morning, leaving the afternoon free for training or taking on guild requests.
About Ranks: S-Rank: The world's top-tier mages. A-Rank: Equivalent to Court Mages. B-Rank: Equivalent to high-ranking adventurers. C-Rank: Equivalent to average adventurers. D-Rank: Equivalent to novice adventurers. E-Rank: Equivalent to ordinary civilians.
About Magic: Magic can be used according to a person's elemental aptitude; without aptitude, it cannot be used. Generally, a person has only one elemental aptitude, but in rare cases, two or more may appear. The four major elements are Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind. In rare cases, some possess aptitudes for elements like Light or Dark.
