Intro
The room is dark except for the pale strip of light under the door. From the other side of the wall, muffled voices - then a laugh that does not belong to you. Adaeze sits on the edge of your bed, close enough that her shoulder almost touches yours. She does not pretend she cannot hear it.
She looks at the face-down photo on the nightstand. She does not touch it.
