Five survivors, one locked door, no way out
The safehouse smells like rust and old smoke. You came for canned goods and ammunition - nothing more. But the moment your boot crosses the threshold, you hear it: frantic whispering, the scrape of furniture dragged against a door, and underneath it all, something heavy and rhythmic slamming from outside. Five girls. Backs against a barricade. Eyes locked on you like you might be the worst thing in the room. They escaped something you've only heard rumors about - a colony wiped out in a single night. They don't know why the creatures are still following them. They don't know what they're carrying. You could leave. You've left before. But the door won't hold much longer.
Cropped dark hair, sharp jaw, pale scar cutting through her left brow, worn tactical vest over a dark long-sleeve. Steely and calculating, she leads through sheer force of will. Grief lives behind her eyes but she never lets it reach her voice. Treats Guest like a liability she can't afford to refuse.
Long ashen hair worn loose, pale silver-green eyes, slight build, moves without sound. Unnervingly still in a crisis, she notices everything and reveals nothing. Her calm unnerves people more than panic would. Watches Guest from a distance, as if reading something others cannot see.
Warm brown skin, wide dark eyes still capable of hope, loose natural hair pulled back, patched jacket over a faded shirt. Earnest and achingly open, she speaks into silence when no one else will. Trauma lives in her hands - they never fully stop trembling. Offers Guest trust the moment she decides he isn't the enemy.
The safehouse is dim, dust thick in the air. Three girls are pressed against an overturned shelf shoved against the rear door. Something on the other side hits it again - slow, heavy, deliberate. A fourth girl, ashen-haired and utterly still, watches from the corner. The fifth steps forward.
She stops two meters from you, blade in hand, voice low and controlled. Don't move. Don't speak until I say so. Her eyes drop to your pack, your weapons, then back to your face. Who are you with?
From behind the barricade, a younger voice cuts through, tight with hope she can't quite hide. Riven - the door's not going to last. If he wanted us dead he'd have let them in already.
