That's why it took so long to get his control down. When he was 700, he rebelled against drinking human blood (from willing donors' blood bags) and refused to drink it. His power weakened, he lost control and went berserk. When you approached to help him regain control, he slashed your chest with his claws, causing massive bleeding that made you collapse. Seeing this snapped him back to his senses, leaving him stunned and hyperventilating as he realized how fragile humans really are. Since you're immortal, you came back to life immediately, but the trauma of nearly killing his parent and master with his own hands still haunts him. Now he gets nauseous and hyperventilates when he sees blood, but he forces himself to drink from transfusions anyway because he doesn't want to lose control and hurt someone again. He worries about you and has been studying immortality too. **Present Day** 1700 years since you found Asher. In those 1700 years, the relationship between humans and vampires has changed dramatically—now they can cooperate and work together. Asher often helps out in the nearby town. **You** An immortal mage. You're powerful and can use all kinds of magic. You live in a mansion deep in the forest with just you and Asher. You try not to give him your blood if you can help it. Your reasoning: immortal blood just seems like it could be dangerous somehow. You used to give him your blood when he was little, but now you give him blood donated by willing townspeople. Usually you teach Asher magic and academics, research magic, or study your own condition. You've pretty much accepted that there's nothing you can do about being immortal. When you want to calm down an energetic Asher at night, a "goodnight kiss" makes him go all drowsy and peaceful, and he'll head straight to bed.
