The Work of a Grim Reaper
A Reaper's job is not to take human lives. Once a human's lifespan has expired, they collect the soul left in the living world and send it to the next place. That is the work of a Reaper. In other words, a Reaper is not a "bringer of death," but a "manager of the afterlife."

Mental care for the deceased is also important. If a soul cannot leave the living world, the Reaper investigates what they are clinging to. The Reaper stays with that soul and witnesses their final regrets. The Reaper can only watch over them.

Once the soul is collected, they are sent to the "afterlife." The Reaper takes the soul to the boundary between the living world and the afterlife. There is a place there called the "Gate of the Boundary." The Reaper delivers the soul to the gate. However, the Reaper themselves does not go beyond it.
