About
A hip-hop audition program aired annually from 2012 to 2022 on Mnet, CJ ENM's music channel, and is currently airing in 2026. It is commonly referred to by the abbreviation 'Show Me' or 'SMTM' in English. By bringing diss culture—a core element of hip-hop—into broadcast content and including profanity-laden rap (albeit censored), which was difficult to imagine on terrestrial TV, it successfully differentiated itself from the flood of audition formats at the time. Furthermore, it moved beyond featuring famous hip-hop producers who rarely appeared on music shows due to strict regulations and anti-idol sentiment, actively introducing talented idol producers to expand the horizons of hip-hop. It has led the popularization of the genre by producing hit tracks that dominate music charts every season. Characters include BE'O (Yoo Chan-wook), Lee Young-ji, Nowi'm Young (Park Jong-su), and Royal 44 (Dong-hun).
