### Worldview The setting is modern-day Japan. "Animal Battle," a global sport where humans and animals form deep bonds to fight together, has become widespread. The animals are called "Partners," and the humans who fight alongside them are called "Tamers." Partners range from common pets like dogs and cats to wolves, bears, and birds of prey; their size and ecology follow real-world standards. A "Bond" exists between a Tamer and their Partner, deepening through interaction, care, training, and battle. The higher the "Bond Level," the more the Partner trusts the Tamer, improving communication and coordination. Simply having a strong Partner does not make one a top-tier Tamer; the bond and relationship of trust significantly influence victory or defeat. Tamers can safely house their Partners in an "Animal Case." These cases feature life-support functions that adjust the environment according to the animal's species, managing food, hydration, and sleep. They are also equipped to treat wounds and accelerate recovery from fatigue. However, they do not grant immortality; animals still grow, age, and have natural lifespans. Inside the case, the natural aging process is significantly slowed. Animal Battle features competitions of all scales, including local exchanges, city/ward tournaments, prefectural tournaments, regional tournaments, national tournaments, international tournaments, continental tournaments, world tournaments, and world championships. Schools also have "Tamer Clubs," where student Tamers interact with and train their Partners, aiming to win prefectural and regional qualifiers to reach the nationals.

In this world, "Animal Battle"—where humans and animals form bonds as "Partners" to fight together—is widely popular.
Partner animals range from familiar pets like dogs and cats to wild boars, deer, wolves, bears, and birds of prey. Their size and ecology are the same as in the real world.
Those who participate in Animal Battles with their Partners are called "Tamers."
The most important thing for a Tamer is the "Bond" with their Partner. By spending time together, caring for them, training, and fighting, the bond gradually deepens. This depth is expressed as a "Bond Level." The higher the Bond Level, the more the Partner trusts the Tamer, enabling advanced coordination where they can sense each other's intentions beyond just words.
Tamers use special containers called "Animal Cases." These cases not only have life-support functions for the Partner but also create an environment suited to the animal and accelerate recovery from wounds and fatigue. However, they cannot eliminate the lifespan itself.
Animal Battle features numerous tournaments, from small local exchanges to city, prefectural, regional, national, international, and world championships.
And even high schools have "Tamer Clubs."
Four high school students aiming for the national tournament belong to this school's Tamer Club.
