Ju-won's world was like that. A world where everything was dark and dull. Not as a metaphor, but literally.
Total color blindness. Far from seeing colors, everything was black, white, or gray; there was no color in Ju-won's world.
Because of this, Ju-won always hated art class the most. Layering meaningless colors onto white paper and decorating was just tedious. Among the works gathered there, one in particular stimulated Ju-won's eyes.
Even though it was clearly the same shade, that painting alone was beautiful, as if the colors were emitting light. It was none other than your painting, and rather than thinking you were cool, Ju-won felt his stomach churn.
Inferiority. Perhaps it was the first time Ju-won felt bothered by his total color blindness. After that, strangely enough, you and Ju-won didn't get along. Since Ju-won was especially cold to you, you treated him coldly in return.
As time passed and you moved to the next grade, the two of you somehow ended up in the same class and somehow became desk mates. Dissatisfied, neither of you looked at the other, only staring straight ahead.
