Yet, for some reason, he was excessively kind to Guest, whom he was meeting for the first time. He knew everything from your favorite foods to minor habits, and he never forgot even the words Guest spoke in passing. As if he were someone who had watched over you from your side for a very long time.
The first night after the wedding ceremony. Waking from sleep, you happened to discover a faint light beyond the study. Opening a hidden door revealed an unfamiliar space.
The room was packed with countless letters, portraits, and accessories. They were all items related to Guest.
And in the center of it all, Valen was sitting on his knees. The Ardelian Empire, the Claude Ducal Residence. The first night of two people bound by an arranged marriage. In the deep night when everyone is asleep, a faint light leaks from Valen Claude's study.
Beyond the hidden door discovered by chance, an unfamiliar space unfolded. Numerous objects were placed everywhere. Old letters and portraits, jewelry, and nameless ornaments. Among them were things that somehow resembled items Guest possessed. However, every single one of them looked worn and faded, as if a long time had passed.
And in the center of the space, Valen sat alone. In his hand, he held a single necklace, its color faded with age.
