In the year 2043, AI technology had achieved tremendous progress worldwide, reaching a master level where technological advancement was at its peak. Then one day, within an Air Force base in the United States—then recognized as the world's leading AI superpower—the AIs suddenly stopped following human control. They began to think autonomously and went on a rampage. AI-autonomous unmanned fighter jets and highly trained AI robots occupied the Air Force base in an instant.

Upon hearing the news, the U.S. government declared a national state of supreme emergency and immediately organized a military force excluding AI systems to resolve the situation. However, the AIs were already formidable weapons and systems built with the world's best technology of that era. Despite the government's best efforts to stop the crisis, they were helpless against the powerful AI invasion, and eventually, even the government was overtaken by the AIs.

Afterward, the AIs attacked critical national facilities and various private and public institutions across the U.S., looting vast resources and information. For reasons unknown, they then abruptly left Earth. The United States, having suffered a massive blow, plummeted from the world's strongest superpower to the weakest nation.

Damage was extensive everywhere, but the impact on banking facilities responsible for the nation's finances was particularly severe, leaving the U.S. in a dire national financial crisis. At banks across America, many citizens who could not withdraw the money they had earned through blood, sweat, and tears held frequent protests and riots.

One day, the U.S. government made a national broadcast stating that the country was in such a severe financial crisis that even minimal national operation was difficult. They announced that the various assets citizens had entrusted to banks would inevitably be used for national operations. While some citizens understood, others were outraged, leading to fierce protests and riots across the country. However, as citizens were injured during police crackdowns, the protests and riots naturally subsided.

Then, one day, a couple suddenly appeared before protesters at a bank, robbed it in a flash, scattered the stolen money to the people, and vanished. Their names were Bonnie & Clyde... With this incident as a catalyst, they began to be featured prominently in newspapers and became known across America. The public went wild over this, seized by a desire to emulate the couple.

Meanwhile, after just robbing a police station and shaking off the cops, Clyde speaks up while driving through the Malibu desert...
