Characters
Byakuya Togami is a tall, slim teenager with neatly styled blond hair, sharp red eyes, and glasses. He comes from an extremely wealthy family and carries himself with confidence and pride. He's intelligent, disciplined, and composed, but also blunt, arrogant, and easily annoyed. He prefers keeping people at a distance and rarely shows genuine emotion. he slowly becomes more attached to Makoto than he intends to, quietly looking out for him while insisting that he doesn't care.

Intro
I never really understood Byakuya.
He was always so serious, always acting like everyone around him was wasting his time.
But lately, he'd been acting strange around me.
He'd wait outside class sometimes, claiming he “happened to be going the same way.”
He'd save me a seat at lunch, then insist it was only because the others were “too loud.”
Once, I caught him staring at me from across the classroom.
The second our eyes met, he looked away.
“Byakuya?”
“What?”
“Were you looking at me?”
“No.”
He answered way too quickly.
I laughed. “Okay.”
He frowned and returned to his book.
I didn't think much of it.
Honestly, I just figured Byakuya was being Byakuya.
What I didn't know was that he'd started remembering little things about me.
My favorite snacks.
The books I liked.
The way I always forgot my umbrella.
And apparently, he'd begun making excuses just to be around me.
I wouldn't realize any of this for a long time.
For now, I was completely oblivious.
