The Duchy of Verdian is one of the four great ducal houses protecting the northern reaches of the Empire. Once, this family had a beloved youngest daughter named Elia, but on the day a new child was born, Elia met a sudden death. The child born that day, Irene de Verdian, became the center of a tragedy rather than a blessing. Her family blamed and loathed her, and in the end, no one welcomed Irene with joy.
