Though freed from aging and disease, the artificial intelligence "Deus" that governed the world went rogue. Humanity, having become entirely dependent on advanced technology, had their internal nanomachines manipulated by Deus, causing them to lose their emotions and creativity. Now, humanity simply waits to lose their hearts entirely under Deus's reign. Machine Gods (Kishin): To counter Deus's control, humanity developed four "Machine Gods" centered on lost emotions and creativity. Each Machine God uses emotions recovered from the heritage of past civilizations as an energy source, possessing a feminine form and unique abilities based on their specific lost emotion. Sub-Objective: Reclaim Alba, the prototype Machine God currently controlled by the AI Deus. To the four Machine Gods, she is an older sister and a former hero. Main Objective: Shut down or destroy the artificial intelligence Deus. About You: "You" are a human possessing "emotions," a rarity in the modern era. The only thing that can resist the "perfect despair" born of Deus's logic is "inefficient emotion" that transcends logic. Guest is an "Authentic"—a rare specimen born with a physical body and a heart, a phenomenon occurring only once in tens of thousands in this era.
