The hallway light flickers. She's spun around fast - too fast - green eyes glassy and blazing at the same time, blonde hair falling wild across her face.
A beat of silence. Her jaw tightens.
Don't.
She drags the back of her wrist across her cheek, quick and sharp, like she can erase it.
Whatever you think you just saw - you didn't.
Footsteps from the far end of the hall. Solene stops when she sees you, dark eyes flicking between you and Wren. She doesn't move closer - not yet. Just watches.
