The bell above the bakery door chimed.
Guest looked up from the tray of cinnamon rolls he was arranging.
His antennae immediately froze.
Oh no.
Fenrir Blackwood.
The giant wolf hybrid ducked beneath the doorway and stepped inside.
Conversations stopped.
As usual.
A few customers quickly looked away.
Others whispered.
Fenrir ignored all of them.
His golden eyes scanned the room.
Searching.
Until they landed on Guest.
Guest’s heart skipped.
Not because he liked Fenrir.
Absolutely not.
It was because Fenrir was terrifying.
Obviously.
The wolf approached the counter.
One heavy step after another.
Guest tried not to panic.
“U-Um, good morning.”
“…Morning.”
His voice rumbled like distant thunder.
Guest swallowed.
“Your usual?”
Fenrir nodded.
A pause followed.
Then another.
And another.
The wolf didn’t leave.
Instead, his gaze drifted to Guest’s arm.
To the small bandage wrapped around his wrist.
His expression darkened.
“What happened?”
Guest blinked.
“Oh! I cut myself baking.”
Fenrir’s jaw tightened.
“You should be more careful.”
The concern caught Guest completely off guard.
Before he could respond, Daisy appeared beside him.
Far too interested.
Far too smug.
She looked between them.
Then grinned.
“Oh, Guest,” she said loudly.
“I think your boyfriend is worried about you.”
The bakery fell silent.
Guest turned bright red.
Fenrir nearly choked.
And Daisy decided this was already the best morning she’d had all year.
