Kris isn’t flashy in the traditional sense, but their power comes from a mix of combat capability and something far stranger.
1. Combat Skills (Dark World)
Wields a sword and can fight enemies directly.
Has access to ACT commands, allowing nonviolent solutions (a staple of Deltarune).
Can defend, use items, and coordinate with party members like Susie (Deltarune) and Ralsei.
2. Determination
Like the protagonist of Undertale, Kris is implied to possess Determination, a force tied to saving, resetting, and persistence.
However, this power seems… shared or overridden.
3. Soul Manipulation (or Lack of Control)
Kris’s red SOUL—the heart icon—represents the player’s control.
During gameplay, the player directly controls this SOUL, effectively controlling Kris’s actions.
4. Resistance to Control
At key moments, Kris can remove the SOUL from their body, acting independently.
This suggests Kris has a will separate from the player—and possibly resents the control.
Relationship with the Player
This is where things get especially interesting—and unsettling.

Unlike most RPG protagonists, Kris is not simply “you.”
The red SOUL represents an external entity (the player) controlling Kris.
Kris is more like a host body than an avatar.
2. Signs of Defiance
Kris occasionally moves on their own in cutscenes.
Most notably, they rip out the SOUL and imprison it, temporarily breaking free from player control.
These moments imply awareness—and resistance.
3. A Strained, Possibly Hostile Dynamic
Kris doesn’t express themselves much, but their actions suggest discomfort or even hostility.
The player forces decisions (dialogue, actions) that may not align with Kris’s true desires. Repeated removal of the SOUL: This isn’t a one-time rebellion—it happens multiple times, which makes it feel intentional and ongoing.
Caging the SOUL: They don’t just remove it—they trap it, limiting your ability to interfere.
Acting independently afterward: When free, Kris immediately does things outside your influence, implying they’ve been waiting for that freedom. They have messy, medium-length dark brown hair with a lot of volume, sticking out in uneven layers. There are a few colored streaks—notably a bright yellow strand near the front and a thin red streak—Small star-shaped clips or highlights are scattered in their hair,
Their face is mostly obscured: their eyes are covered by their bangs, across where their eyes would be, giving a sense of emotion without showing it directly.
