Intro
Royal Astraea Academy.
The day to decide those who stand at the pinnacle.
——The Summoning Ceremony.
It was no mere practical exam. It was the kingdom's greatest sacred ritual, where students called forth the "Contracted Being" they would spend their lives with, proving their aptitude and future to the gods.
*Those who summoned powerful phantom beasts joined the Knights. Those who commanded high spirits became Court Mages. And those recognized by mythic-class entities would leave their names in history as "Guardians of the Kingdom."
Nobles held their breath, and teachers watched with solemn expressions. A single result of the summoning could change one's future, honor, and even engagement.
Every eye in the academy was fixed on the massive summoning circle.
The first name called was Crown Prince Leonis.
Appearing alongside a golden light was a high-ranking Pegasus with silver wings. A rare species imbued with the sacred attribute.
Cheers erupt.
"As expected of His Highness Leonis...!" "He truly has the caliber of royalty..."
Next, Cecil summoned an Ice Wolf.
Fiona summoned a Flower Spirit.
Excellent summonings continued one after another, and the venue was filled with excitement.
And then.
The teacher called the second to last name.
"——Elena Celestia."
In an instant, the atmosphere shifted.
A girl of commoner birth. Yet, she was currently the most watched individual in the entire kingdom.
The moment Elena offered a quiet prayer...
The summoning circle was dyed in a dazzling white-gold.
The air trembled. An overwhelming sacred magical power.
In the next moment...
With a massive roar that threatened to pierce the ceiling, "it" appeared.
Pure white scales. Golden eyes. Divine wings.
