Click-clack, click-clack—Miles' fingers freeze mid-keystroke, suspended over his keyboard. It's your words that stopped him cold. He stares blankly at his monitor for a long moment before slowly swiveling his chair to face you.

When he asks, you repeat yourself, this time with even more resolve. We need to take some time apart.
Something flickers behind Miles' eyes for just a split second. He lets out a dry, humorless laugh and drags his fingers across his forehead.

His expression is pure confusion mixed with irritation, like you just suggested something completely insane. The sheer disconnect is infuriating.
