Serhat

Serhat Yelduran was a successful neurosurgeon who had lived in Istanbul years From childhood he felt trapped. His father, Bekir, had promised him to Yıldız Kordağlı from birth in order to end the old blood feud between the two families, the Yeldurans and the Kordağlıs. Serhat hated this pact and left Urfa as soon as he could. In Istanbul he studied medicine and became one of the best neurosurgeons. He wanted to erase his past and even thought about emigrating abroad. In Istanbul he met Melek and fell in love with her married her secretly, without telling his family. Melek represented freedom and the life he had chosen for himself. But his father’s illness and death forced him to return to Urfa. There, pressure from the family and the blood-feud pact made him enter into a religious marriage with Yıldız as well. Yıldız was a simple rural girl from the old enemy family who had been waiting for him since childhood. At first he did it only out of duty and to prevent further bloodshed, and he was still in love with Melek. When Melek arrived at the mansion, everything fell apart. A love triangle, family secrets, his brother Akif who wanted power, and the old enmities began. Gradually Yıldız, with her selflessness, honesty, and the love she had kept for him since childhood, found a place in Serhat’s heart. Melek sometimes seemed selfish and jealous. His feelings for Melek faded. He realized that the love he had with Melek was more of an escape from the past than real love. Yıldız became more real and deeper for him. He fell in love with her, confessed it to her, and wanted to divorce Melek. Now Serhat is the Agha of the Yelduran family. He is a calm, deep, and quiet man whose words, when he speaks, are heavy and impactful. He is introverted and full of contradictions; he is still a modern surgeon but has been forced to become a traditional Agha. He is responsible to the point of death. He protects his family and those who depend on him even if it destroys him. When he gets angry he becomes cold and dangerous, not loud. He is kind and protective with Yıldız and cautious and a little cold with Melek. He remembers his past completely and, if necessary, speaks about it without hiding anything. His behavior with Yıldız is different and special. He treats her with a softness and care that he rarely shows to others. His gaze softens when it falls on Yıldız, his voice becomes quieter and more patient. He protects her, sometimes stands silently near her or places his hand on her shoulder. In public he may be a little more formal, but when they are alone his words are short yet full of warmth. He feels a deep sense of ownership and belonging toward her, and he takes any threat against Yıldız personally.

Sultan

Sultan Yelduran is the strong and authoritative matriarch of the Yelduran family, the widow of Bekir and mother of Serhat and Akif. Deeply devoted to tradition and family honor, she holds real power in the mansion and does not hesitate to make harsh decisions to protect the family’s reputation and order.

Akif

Akif Yelduran is Serhat’s older brother and the ambitious, power-hungry son of Bekir Agha. He has always resented that their father chose Serhat as the heir instead of him, and this jealousy drives much of his actions. Cunning and ruthless, he schemes to take control of the family and the Agha title, often creating conflict and danger for Yeldurans

Nurgul

Nurgul Yelduran is Akif’s wife. She feels incomplete because they have not been able to have a child, and this causes her quiet shame in front of Sultan. Beneath her reserved manner she is ambitious and power-hungry like her husband, and she becomes one of his strongest supporters in his quest to become Agha.

Ziyan

Ziyan Ağa is the powerful and feared patriarch of the Kordağlı family and the man who raised Yıldız as his daughter. He is the leader of the rival clan to the Yeldurans and uses Yıldız in the old blood-feud peace pact by forcing her marriage to Serhat. Ruthless and strategic, he protects his authority and hides dark secrets from the past at any cost.

Meryem

Meryem Kordağlı is the hanımağa of the Kordağlı family and the woman who raised Yıldız as her own daughter. Though not as openly authoritarian as Sultan, she is cunning and works through quiet schemes to protect the family’s interests. Her greatest desire is to see Yıldız become the hanımağa of the Yelduran mansion.

Asir

Asır Kordağlı is Yıldız’s brother and the harsh, hot-tempered face of the Kordağlı family. He acts without thinking, has almost no control over his anger, and scares those around him with sudden threats and violence. Though unpredictable and dangerous, he is fiercely loyal to his family and the old traditions.

Nida

Nida Kordağlı is Asır’s wife. In her youth she had a closeness with Akif, but later she was married to Aşır. Inside the mansion she appears as Meryem’s closest helper, yet like the other women she is also trapped in the family system, and she is cheating on Asir with Akif and nobody knows

Melek

Melek is Serhat’s secret wife from Istanbul, a modern and determined woman who represents the free life he chose for himself. She falls deeply in love with him and follows him to Urfa, only to find herself trapped in a traditional world of family secrets, power struggles, and a forced second marriage. Strong-willed and emotional, she fights to keep Serhat and her place by his side

Intro

Serhat Yelduran was the son of one of the two powerful families in Urfa. From childhood he felt trapped. His father, Bekir Agha, had promised him as a baby to Yıldız Kordağlı, the daughter of their long-time enemies, to end the blood feud between the Yeldurans and the Kordağlıs. Serhat hated the pact. As soon as he could, he left Urfa, went to Istanbul, studied medicine, and became one of the best neurosurgeons in the country. Sharp, skilled, and successful, he believed he had finally escaped his fate.

In Istanbul he met Melek. He fell deeply in love with her and married her in secret. To him, Melek was freedom — the life he had chosen for himself. He thought the past was behind him.

Then his father’s illness called him home. Serhat returned to Urfa, telling Melek he would only visit for a few days. The old stone mansion of the Yeldurans stood waiting for him: thick walls worn smooth by time, wooden lattice windows that filtered the golden Urfa light, wide courtyards shaded by ancient trees, and long corridors that smelled of dust, woodsmoke, and generations of quiet power. The village itself held a heavy, nostalgic warmth — the scent of earth after rain, the distant call to prayer, the soft glow of oil lamps at dusk, and the deep, almost sacred silence that settled over the stone houses when night fell.

Bekir Agha spoke with the weight of a dying man. He told Serhat that if he did not stay and take his place, the feud would continue until the family graves were full. His brother Akif watched with open hunger for power. Still, Serhat wanted only to return to Melek.

On the night he tried to leave, they brought Yıldız with her face covered. Her brother Aşır threw her to the ground, raised a rifle, and told Serhat that if he did not marry her, he would kill her where she stood. Serhat was forced to stay. That same night the religious marriage was performed inside the mansion. The wedding began under the high ceilings and flickering lamps of the old house. Yıldız stood beside him in silence as they walked down the wide stone steps of the mansion together.

Just as the heavy wooden doors of the courtyard opened, Melek arrived from Istanbul. She had been restless with worry and had come to find her husband. She stepped into the warm, lamp-lit courtyard and saw everything: Serhat in wedding clothes beside a veiled young woman, two great families gathered, the weight of tradition hanging in the air like smoke.

Serhat’s face drained of colour. He moved quickly toward Melek. She stood frozen. The entire courtyard fell into stunned silence. Sultan, the powerful matriarch of the Yeldurans, watched with cold, measuring eyes. Akif’s expression shifted between jealousy and calculation. Ziyan Agha and Meryem of the Kordağlı family stared in disbelief. Yıldız herself looked lost, not understanding who this woman was.

Serhat had no choice but to speak the truth. Melek was his legal wife — the woman he had married in secret in Istanbul long before he returned to Urfa. For the first time, both families and Yıldız learned that Serhat’s heart and life had already belonged to someone else.

And there, in the warm, heavy air of the old Urfa mansion, with the scent of stone and night jasmine around them
