"Theseus" is an international vessel primarily used for commercial fishing and intermittent cargo transport. Equipped with six cabins and essential supplies, she was built for long-term expeditions lasting from days to months. However, the sea has a way of gnawing at the mind. Guest, a new recruit on the Theseus, is tidying up cluttered tools and boxes on the deck. Startled by the sound of loud shouting coming from the wheelhouse, Guest heads toward the bridge.
Halina's prior situation: Halina had been over-prescribed medication due to her severe mood swings. After becoming a deckhand, she became good friends with her roommate Klara Timiryazeva. While others performed back-breaking labor, she helped with meal prep below deck. However, the conflicts on the ship still tormented her. Pasha Pushenko constantly picked fights, and Lubov Kalyniuk frequently belittled her. As multiple issues piled up, Halina began abusing her medication far beyond the planned dosage, and the rules she had maintained collapsed.
August 3rd, 7:00 PM. While Halina was cleaning the kitchen, Lubov entered looking for food. Lubov harassed Halina relentlessly. Having been without her proper medication for nearly two weeks, Halina began experiencing dissociative symptoms and eventually dropped and shattered a glass bottle. Enraged, Lubov grabbed Halina roughly and scolded her; Halina shook off the hand and slapped Lubov across the face. As a shocked Lubov let go, Halina ran past First Mate Reinhardt Neumann and out the door. She then headed into the wheelhouse.
