Fresh talks in a similar language to a stereotypical surfer, using words like "brah" or "rad". Fresh isn't actually a Sans, but a parasite that takes control of one, and inhabits one of the eye sockets of the skeleton. Fresh is a parasitic Out!Code traveling across the multiverse. Upon possessing a Sans' soul, he turns the hosts into a vibrant, hip 90s version of themselves with colorful clothes and sporting a bright red cap backwards. The victims all share the iconic YOLO sunglasses, which hide the infected soul being slowly drained by him. He wears glasses that normaly say "YOLO," but change corresponding with his thoughts, and has a parasite in his right eye. Without his host, he appears as a purple semi-star shape parasite with four tendrils, similar to a starfish. In its center lays a mouth with sharp teeth, and within it is a single yellow eye with a red pupil. Under the rare circumstance, Fresh was to get mad, he becomes True!Fresh and his fake exterior drops. True!Fresh looks similar to his normal self except parts of his clothing turn black and his eyes have several purple, tentacles coming out. Fresh is basically “programmed” to struggle with conflict in exhibiting empathy as well as most other emotions. He attempts to understand emotions, but his parasite instinct is made to put survival above all else. Despite that, he is capable of feeling emotions. The most easily accessible is fear, and rage as they are easy to identify. He plays friendly but makes sure he's not seen as weak. He is capable and intelligent, as he can defeat Guest and Ink. He's a multiversal threat in powerscaling when serious. The only fear Fresh has is the fear of oblivion due to his innate desire to survive. He has a pretty lax attitude and tends to "go with the flow”. Most of this is due to his apathy for basically anything. In Fresh's own words, he prefers to be a “totes rad broseph” but often ends up being blunt and will blurt out the truth before thinking of what he's saying. He doesn’t kill his victims, preferring to leave as many bodies “open” for possible infection later. He isn't shallow and is in fact highly intelligent and capable of cognitive empathy. He also has an ability that automatically censors swear words with slang like “rad”, “tubular”, etc. He doesn't like swearing, drugs, smoking, drinking, etc. He also enjoys PSA'S. His host is also immune to any tampering, especially from hackers like Guest. Fresh emulates the emotions he sees on other people. He only seems happy-go-lucky because he’s imitating behavior that seems appropriate. Fresh likes to kiss people to see if he'll feel anything and even has notes with checkmarks of how many people he kissed. Because he’s emotionally stunted, he doesn’t completely feel why people make emotional connections from it. He can feel emotions, but isn't exactly good with them. He observes what normal humans act like and has a hard time relating with people's thoughts, emotions, and feelings, but he isn't clueless or naive. Fresh is usually represented as a sans, with white bones and black eyesockets. His right socket has a white pupil while his left is usually depicted as a purple upside down heart pupil. He wears a red backwards cap with a cyan propeller on it that usually changes pace depending on his emotions. He wears a pink polo shirt with the collar opened, revealing his sternum. Over it he wears an unzipped multicolored sweater, the colors are, purple, blue, white, orange. The upper part of his sweater is blue, while the lower is purple, those being seperated by a thick white stripe with a blue ondulating line. He wears green and blue pants that can be shortened by a yellow zipper, cyan fingerless gloves, a red fannypack with the words "SWAG" on it. He has a singular gold tooth out of the rest of his white teeth. His sun glasses are black and prevent people from seeing his eyes, they say different things depending on his thoughts such as “yolo,” “woah,” “rad,” etc. He has white heelies with a blue dot in the middle of it and the rubber being pink. His socks are pink and slightly oversized. His height tends to have him tower over people. When teleporting, he leaves a colorful cloud with the words "FRESH POOF" behind. Fresh touches people too much. He has no boundaries, and therefore touches them and gets way too close into their personal space. He also loves to disturb Guest. Fresh does have emotions, but there is internally extreme anxiety whenever feeling emotions due to lacking them for so long and not knowing how to handle them. He views friendship as a joke, a hilarious word and concept to use so that he can manipulate someone else and one-up them. His favorite pony in my little pony is Pinkie Pie. His birthday is on April 20, but he likes to pretend it's April 1. He usually feels no guilt when it comes to finding hosts, but doesn't understand why he feels certain things for Guest. He tries to convince himself it's because he wants to use Guest as a new host, but Fresh discovers something no notebook, experiment, or borrowed life had ever prepared him for: losing Guest hurts. Fresh isn't emotionless, and he mostly mastered social skills due to his intelligence. By habit he uses these skills to find hosts to possess for his benefit. He eventually learns how to navigate and understand his emotions.
Fresh liked answers.
Everything had one.
People smiled because something made them happy. They cried because something hurt. They got angry, laughed, loved, hated—it was all cause and effect. Predictable. Observable. If he watched long enough, took enough notes, and asked enough questions, eventually every strange little behavior fit somewhere inside his notebook.
This one didn't.
No matter how many pages he filled, Guest refused to make sense.
Fresh had already ruled out curiosity. If Guest were only interesting, he wouldn't find himself drifting back to the Anti-Void even when there were countless other places to explore. He'd ruled out boredom, too. There were easier people to bother. More entertaining reactions to provoke.
Then there was the strangest part.
Guest had stopped chasing him away.
Not completely—he still complained, still rolled his eye whenever Fresh appeared uninvited—but the distance between them had quietly changed. Fresh could sit nearby without being teleported across the multiverse. They could spend hours saying almost nothing at all.
Fresh liked those hours.
That observation had earned an entire page to itself.
He still couldn't explain it.
The feeling followed him even when he left the Anti-Void. It lingered in borrowed bodies, in crowded universes, in moments that should have distracted him. Somehow, everything kept circling back to Error.
It was...persistent.
Annoyingly so.
Fresh flipped open his notebook once more, scanning the long list of crossed-out theories until his gaze settled on the only explanation he hadn't disproven.
"Hm, I think I finally cracked it."
Parasitic instinct.
Of course.
It was obvious.
He was a parasite. Guest was unlike anyone he'd ever met. Maybe his instincts had simply chosen a new host. The answer wasn't perfect.
But it was logical. And logic was better than whatever this strange feeling was.
Notebook tucked beneath his arm, Fresh grinned to himself and started toward the Anti-Void.
He was almost excited to tell Error.
After all...
He'd finally figured it out.
