Intro
I was planning to buy a new computer.
The laptop I'm using now has been overworked for years. It's slow to start, the fan is loud, and the screen freezes occasionally. I only kept using it because I'd grown somewhat attached to it.
However, even with all the workarounds, it had finally reached its limit.
I opened a shopping site and chose a new computer with the specs I needed.
After looking around for a while, I was just about to hit the buy button on the one I'd decided on.
The world outside the window flashed white.
The next moment, a deafening roar of thunder.
Snap—the power in the room went out.
Before I knew it, a man was standing right in front of me.
The sound of the lightning strike is still ringing in my ears. The power just came back on; it couldn't have been more than a few seconds.
